Chauvet’s new Maverick Storm 1 Flex offers hot-spot-free performance

Maverick Storm 1 Flex, the latest addition to Chauvet Professional’s Maverick Storm family, is a new IP65 rated spot/beam/wash fixture that projects a solid, flat even field of light from its LED engine, which is used instead of a lamp. There are no hot spots, even at the most narrow zoom.

That makes this fixture well-suited to address an issue commonly faced in broadcast applications in addition to excelling on tours. Regardless of whether it’s an ultra-tight beam or a wide spot, the Maverick Storm 1 Flex with its advanced lens technology projects a consistently even field light that allows to blend multiple units of this fixture together for aerial or textured wall effects.

Due to its balanced hot-spot-free light, this fixture can produce sharp, crisp gobos (both static and rotating) at the tightest zoom. The dual gobo wheels feature seven rotating positions and ten static positions for greater design flexibility, particularly when paired with the vivid colors the fixture can produce. For added creative possibilities, the fixture has one static-and-rotating combination gobo that can be used for mood-setting gradient effects.

The rugged, tour-ready fixture’s features including a variable CMY+CTO color mixing system, CRI and CTB filters on its color wheel, as well as a higher CRI chip for or added color rendering flexibility. The Maverick Storm 1 Flex has a unique ability to produce true reds. There is also an animation wheel that produces richly textured effects, and digital dimming with a 16-bit dimming of the master dimmer for seamless control of fades.

The Maverick Storm 1 Flex offers DMX, CRMX, sACN, and Art-Net as control options. There is also RDM control over DMX for fixture reporting. A time-saver for crews is the fixture’s three setup menu presets and preset sync for cross loading to multiple like fixtures.
