Yamaha launches new L2 PoE Switch

Yamaha’s new SWR2311P-10G is an intelligent L2 switch that provides functionality for Audinate’s Dante digital audio network, allowing construction of stable audio networks while simplifying settings, monitoring, management and operation.

The SWR2311P-10G allows Dante settings to be automatically made on the VXL1-16P via LLDP, which passes system management data between neighbouring devices. Featuring eight Power over Ethernet (PoE)-compliant LAN ports and two combo LAN/SFP ports, the SWR2311P-10G can supply a maximum of 30 W PoE for all ports simultaneously.

The unit delivers ample PoE for driving the VXL1-16P, as well as transmitting Dante audio and control signals. Dedicated Yamaha LAN Monitor software allows for troubleshooting, including checking the PoE power supply status, switching the PoE power supply and - using the snapshot function - fault notification.

The web-based user interface provides a range of monitoring functionality, including dead/alive monitoring for PoE powered devices, allowing the user to restart the device if a fault occurs or fault notification via email.

An optional RK-SWR rackmount accessory can be used to install the SWR2311P-10G in a 19-inch rack, with the WK-SWR wall mount accessory available to mount the unit on a wall, ceiling or other surface. In situations that require Dante devices to be connected across distances greater than 100 metres/110 yards, the SFP-SWRG-SX or SFP-SWRG-LX long-distance communication modules can be used.
