Adlib gets focussed with PLASA in Glasgow

Adlib used the recent PLASA Focus Glasgow exhibition to underline its commitment to a number of manufacturers, including L-Acoustics and Soundcraft, by ensuring that stocks of these products are available in Scotland for all types of shows and events.

The Adlib team was led by John Hughes and Graham Cochrane. The exhibition proved a great chance for Adlib to meet Scottish industry contacts and friends and to consolidate their presence in the region following the opening of a Glasgow office in early 2015 and the acquisition of EFX Audio. The plan is to invest heavily in equipment, expertise and resources in the area.

In addition to the double stand on the trade show floor at the SECC, Adlib hosted a live demonstration area in conjunction with L-Acoustics and Soundcraft and also staged some seminars related to the art of sound engineering and product choice on the Wednesday of the two day expo.

The L-Acoustics seminar and live demonstration was led by UK Sales Manager Stuart Down and product specialist Dan Orton who provided an overview of technologies offered by L-Acoustics and their correct applications.

The Soundcraft seminar was run by product specialist Andy Brown who provided an introduction to the Vi range of consoles from Soundcraft, showing the similarities between analogue and digital workflows and how the Vi consoles work. Other leading consoles on the Adlib stand were DiGiCo, Yamaha and Midas.

Throughout the day, attendees could explore the demo area and get hands-on with L-Acoustics X Series and Arcs WiFo loudspeakers and the latest Soundcraft Vi7000 and Vi3000 consoles. As the show drew to a close, the demo area morphed into a social scene as well as a technical experience, with around 100 people having a chance to chat and compare notes.
